After a very long journey on Wednesday - leaving home at between 5.00 and 6.00 am and eventually arriving at the Van de Valk Hotel at 8:30pm, Team GB checked in, had a drink and then settled into their rooms. Beautiful hotel, only 10 minutes from the venue and yet was the only one the entire team could all be booked into with their dogs.
Thursday morning - the team woke at different times but arranged a get together in the foyer after breakfast. This was good time for exchanging Good Luck Gifts and showing the cards which had been sent to the team by supporters at home. Team GB thank everyone for their thoughtfulness!
And another reason for meeting was for wishing Team GB supporter Roger Neville a very Happy Birthday.
Yes it was time for chilling out and recovering from the very long drive.
All the dogs were then walked locally before meeting again to find and check out the Championship venue. Lots of photos here. What a huge hall with tiered seating, lots of parking and actually quite perfect!
The afternoon was spent at the hotel preparing for the next three days.
Roger's Birthday so it was his choice of evening meal at the local Chinese Restaurant across the road from the Team Hotel.
Team GB had plenty of time this evening to recharge batteries and get to know each other really well. And an excellent choice of restaurant!
